Nidan signed an MOU with Infrastructure Professionals Enterprise (P) Ltd. (on behalf of DFID supported Support Programme for Urban Reforms in Bihar) to start a project to conduct stage wise survey of vendors across 28 towns in Bihar in association with the Government of Bihar. This survey would help to conclude status report on magnitude and condition of vendors along with their socio-economic profiling from the target area. With details like vendor’s prominent business activities, challenges faced by vendors on day to day basis, status and limitation of support system and possible intervention areas will be enlisted. This all would be valuable reflection, both, policy as well as at implementation level.
This comprehensive survey would be used for structuring the vending development sub component entailed in the Local Economic Development Component of the SPUR Program. The survey would be undertaken in congruence with perspectives and guidelines provided by the National Vendor’s Policy.
The survey would be conducted in 28 towns /ULBs of Bihar viz. Muzzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Bettiah, Motihari, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Munger, Jamalpur, Purnia, Saharsa, Kishanganj, Katihar, Gaya, Bodhgaya, Dehri, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Nawada, Patna, Danapur, Khagaul, Phulwarisharif, Hajipur, Biharsharif, Chhapra and Siwan. |
